September 2006
We are sorry to record that Chris Dixon, the organiser of our
'Evergreens Society' died suddenly on 3rd September 2006. She formerly
lived at 3 Crafts End. Her funeral was held at All Saints church on
13th September.

I phoned him last week to enquire
whether the road from Upton to the Reservoir, (The Iknield Way), will be
open for drivers coming to Chilton. He said that he thought it would be
closed towards the end of the repair period but is likely to be open for the
first 2 weeks of the repairs, until about 11th June.
On May 16 a notice at the bottom of the hill in West Hagbourne stated the road
will be closed from 30 May to 11 June.
They did not give it a new foundation, just patched it up in places.
